Voice & Data Security Solutions

Internet is vulnerable to overloading caused by flash crowds, spam, and DDoS attacks. As a preventive measure, most of the currently deployed VoIP security solutions are based on policy control, threshold-based request rate throttling or random dropping of requests etc. However, without the capability of distinguishing legitimates callers from the spoofed ones, these solutions ignore the essential nature of the telephone service. If the calls from legitimate subscribers are not properly responded, erodes the customer base and revenue of service providers.

  Detection of Voice Spam (SPIT)

VoDaSec's patent-pending technology addresses the enterprise and carrier service proider's need of detecting voice spam attacks without any infrastructure changes. VoDaSec's SPS works without requiring call history or reputation value of callers and also does not perform any type of Turing tests. SPS correlates INVITE attributes and applies statistical methods to raise an alarm. The detection resolution is our own choice varying from a fraction of a second to couple of seconds.

Flash Crowds / DDoS Attacks

Both of these events degrade the performance of a SIP proxy sever to a point where it becomes sluggish and even unresponsive.
VoDaSec's patent-pending technology not only performs an early detection, but distinguishes between the two, so that a differential treatment can be given to both types of traffic.

Needles from the Haystack

VoDaSec's patent-pending technology is based on a heuristic that allows to select good traffic from the DDoS attack traffic. The selective admittance of legitimate traffic not only protects the call processing server, but keeps on serving customers as well.
