Recently, VoIP, an Internet-based telephony service is experiencing a phenomenal growth. As its deployment spreads, it will become a prime target for DoS attacks, in which flooding attack is the most common one. VoDaSec has developed a patent-pending protocol behavioral based solution that not only detects but distinguishes INVITE flooding DoS attack from an INVITE surge due to a flash crowd event. It is capable of detecting REGISTER, DRDoS or any other flooding attacks. It is sensitive enough to detect any low-rate attacks too. VoDaSec’s patent-pending server side overloading prevention mechanism utilizes reliability mechanism of TCP and SIP protocols. The exponential back off time values are used for pushing back (in case of flash crowds) and selective admittance (in case of DDoS attack) of the legitimate requests. VoDaSec Solutions provides a comprehensive solution to flooding problems, whether it is due to a flash crowd event or a DoS attack. |
